If you only have roasted cashews, that’s fine too. It’s best to use raw so they get toasted freshly in the wok (or skillet) for maximum flavour development. Here’s what you need for this Thai stir fry with chicken:Ĭashews – The nuts are actually the star ingredient in this stir fry! They bring texture, flavour and nutty richness to the party. What goes in Thai Cashew Chicken Stir Fry No one would see this wok of goodness and think, “It doesn’t look like there’s enough flavour in that,”… Right? □ Raw cashews are paler and softer than roasted cashews. There’s plenty of flavour coating the stir fry ingredients that stains and flavours the rice when you mix it through. So you don’t need nor do you want a ton of sauce to soak your rice. Stir fries featuring cashews are a favourite across Asia and the Thai version is one of the best! Unlike Chinese Cashew Chicken which is generous on sauce, the Thai version is a drier style stir fry where the sauce flavour is much more intense. This is a great Thai food favourite that’s incredibly quick to make. Crunchy golden cashews and chicken are tossed in a simple yet bold Thai stir fry sauce with as much or as little fresh chilli as you want! While Thai Cashew Chicken is not as saucy as Chinese Cashew Chicken, what it lacks in sauciness it makes up for in big flavour. ![]() ![]() ![]() Anyway, she says, “I really love your work. The good news is they caught the guy, the band news is now we don’t need to shoot it.” I learned a valuable lesson that day don’t go around bragging to people that you’ve booked this role and gonna go do something. I go into the audition and I end up booking the part and we were gonna go to Arkansas to shoot this scene but a week before we’re supposed to go she calls me up, she says, “Dave, I’ve got good news and bad news. In August, the same casting director called me for an audition for America’s Most Wanted. They’re like, “What do you have lined up?” I say, “Nothing.” “How do you know you’re gonna make it?” I said, “I just know it! I just know it!” So from May until September I’m telling people at work that I’m gonna quit my job, get into entertainment full-time, I’m gonna act. I went to my boss and I asked him if he’d put me on a severance package we were about to have a big lay-off and he said, “No, I can’t do that,” so I picked up my calendar, closed my eyes and pointed… to September. ![]() This was in May of 1990 and I decided that I was going to quit my job at the end of the year. So she saw me working with these kids and she was like, “Oh my god! How is he able to do that with these kids?!” She was pretty amazed and asked if I could get her a resumé and I said, “Sure!” I gave it to her and we kept having showcases throughout the year where we would invite her so she saw me interact with the kids constantly at the school. They could be in any type of position while they freeze but they would have to slate as if they were standing straight up and looking into the camera. One of the things I used to do as a mannequin, as you’re standing there frozen, one of the exercises I did with the kids in class was this freeze exercise where they’d have to freeze like a mannequin and while they’re frozen, I’d have them slate. I was preparing these 4 and 5 year olds for the actual showcase and this casting director from Dallas by the name of Shirley Abrams was also invited to the showcase and she came in and saw me working with these kids. They do commercials, comedy and monologues. This was down in Dallas – every year they had a Hollywood showcase where they flew in casting directors and agents from Los Angeles to work with these kids on a two-day seminar. The first class that they gave me was a bunch of 4, 5 and 6 year olds and I just fell in love with working with these kids and teaching them acting. The age range at the school was 3-and-a-half to 18. I went and subbed and fell in love with working with these kids. ![]() They needed a substitute teacher one day and they asked me to fill in. The short version of the long story is that I was working for Texas Instruments as a software analyst and when they hired me, they asked me how long I planned on being there and I said, “Well, my goal is to be here at least five years and then quit to pursue entertainment full time.” After the fifth year I really wasn’t ready to quit and the sixth year came up and I thought, “Okay, this is the year.” So I got involved in an acting workshop and the gentleman that taught the acting workshop for adults, his wife owned an acting school for kids. However, the vast majority of the audience did not understand it, so we decided to cut it out, leaving the answer ambiguous, and subject to various interpretations - besides the above explanation, you can believe that Old Biff had a heart attack from the shock of time travel of from flying the car, or from something that happened to him in 1955. After old Biff clutches his chest and staggers (the same symptoms that Marty exhibited in Back to the Future when he was beginning to be "erased"), we actually filmed him falling onto the street and vanishing, and we previewed the movie this way. (Probably, Lorraine shot him sometime around 1996!). Our intention regarding old Biff was that upon his return to 2015, he would be erased from existence because he had changed his entire destiny by giving his younger self the Sports Almanac. What happened to old Biff when he staggered out of the DeLorean in 2015? As far as we know, Nike has no current plans to develop such a shoe. It's purely a special effect, and those shoes do not really exist. ![]() Wilson attempted to defuse the actor’s “method” style antics in between takes, but to no avail.Where can I get a pair of those self-lacing shoes that Marty had? He spoke about it during an appearance on a podcast and described the way Stoltz drove “the heels of his hands” into him. When word spread about Stoltz’s exit, Wilson’s only regret was that he didn’t get payback for what he endured. So, he waited to shoot the scene at the Under the Sea dance where Biff hits Marty. Wilson did not report it because he didn’t want to sabotage his first feature film role. A score had been created and the bully of Hill Valley High was seeking to settle it in a few weeks,” wrote Gaines. “The result was a perfect shot and a number of bruises on Wilson’s collarbone. Instead, he dug into Wilson’s collarbone with each strike. Remember the pushing match when Marty confronts Biff and tells him to leave Lorraine alone? Wilson claimed Stoltz used extra force “take after take, unwilling to play pretend.” Wilson repeatedly asked Stoltz to ease up, but he didn’t. He learned about an antagonistic working relationship between the actors behind Biff and Marty that stemmed from the 1955 cafeteria scene. In Caseen Gaines’ We Don’t Need Roads: The Making of the Back to the Future Trilogy, the author interviewed cast and crew members from the entire franchise. Writers Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis later let Stoltz go when they figured out his acting style wasn’t a good fit, but not before he got on Wilson’s bad side.
